Parking suggestions for Toastmasters members and guests –

The Joe Crowley Student Union building is at the end of the driveway by Lawlor Events Center, at N. Virginia and 15^th Street. Here are some parking options:

Brian Whalen Parking Garage on N. Virginia Street – parking on the top floor for $5 (for all day); you buy a ticket from the machine on the roof. The machine takes cash ($1 or $5 bills, or quarters; plus in future will take credit/debit cards). This garage is just across from the JC Student Union.

West Stadium Parking Garage on N. Virginia St., just north of Lawlor Events Center – parking on the top floor for $3 (for all day). The machine takes only $1 bills, $5 bills, or quarters. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from there to the Crowley Student Union. If you don’t have change, you can go to the Parking Office next to the garage (on 16^th Street) and pay there, or there is a change machine near the kiosk at the 9^th and Center Street campus entrance.

Another option  – there are meters at 15^th and Virginia Streets, in the lot south of Lawlor Events Center, with a 2-hour time limit ($1.50 per hour).

(For any problems with Parking Garage machines or meters, please call Parking Services at 784.4654. Please note that the fines on campus are quite high: $20 for meter violations, and $30 for parking garage violations.)

Further options (with probably less availability) are the meters on N. Virginia St. right behind the Jot Travis Building, and the meters on the west side of N. Virginia by the Extended Studies Building. They are also around $1.50 for an hour.

On-street parking is very limited and, in residential zones close to campus, it is prohibited except to residents with permits. Watch for the “residential permit only” signs.
